What is an entry?

An entry consists of either one image or a series of images.

What is the fee to enter?

The “All Entrants” category fee:  Single Image $15.00 USD | Series (2 to 5 images) $30.00 USD

The “College Students” category fee: Single Image $15.00 USD | Series (2 to 5 images) $30.00 USD

The “Youth” category: No Fee

The “Professional” category fee: Single Image $35.00 USD | Series (2-10 Images) $50.00 USD

Is there a limit to the number of contest entries that I can enter?

No, you may enter the contest as many times as you like. However, this is a skills based contest. The number of entries does not increase your chances of winning.

When does the contest begin?

The All Entrants category begins March 13 (12:01:00 AM) US Eastern Standard Time (EST) and ends May 12, 2017 US Eastern Standard Time (EST) (the “contest”).

The College Students category begins September 10, 2017 at (12:01:00 AM) US Eastern Standard Time (EST) and ends December 9, 2017 at (11:59:00 pm) US Eastern Standard Time (EST) (the “contest”).

The Youth category begins May 21, 2017 at (12:01:00 AM) US Eastern Standard Time (EST) and ends August 5, 2017 at (11:59:00 pm) US Eastern Standard Time (EST) (the “contest”).

The Professional category begins March 13, 2017 (12:01:00 AM) US Eastern Standard Time (EST) and ends May 12, 2017 at 11:59:00 pm) US Eastern Standard Time (EST) (the “Contest”).

What format should I save my digital images?

Digital submissions must be no larger than 2000 Pixels in either height or width and saved as Jpegs (.jpg), in RGB format and not exceed 20MB per file, at 150 dpi. Images will be viewed on a large monitor and should be in the Adobe RGB or sRGB color space. Filenames should contain contestants name and ranking number for the respective number of images entered. (Ex. File 001 – John Doe #1, File 002 – John Doe #2)

Can I enter if I live outside of the U.S.?

Yes, the Caribbean Photo Contest is an International competition except where prohibited by law, international entries can be submitted.

Do the same rules apply for the “All Entrants”, “College Students”, “Youth”, “Professional” categories?

No! Different rules apply to each category. Make sure you read the rules carefully.

What’s the difference between the categories?

See Contest Details section under the Contest Info tab on Main Menu.

Will there be a prizewinner for each category?

Yes, there will be a winner in each category.

What are my chances of winning?

That depends upon the number of submissions. Typically we get thousands of entries each year.

All categories are skill-based contest and chance/luck plays no part in the determination of winners.

Will my images be sold?

No. You retain copyright to your photograph and the Sponsors may not sell your photo entry for a fee. All entries may be posted online so that viewers may view all competing entries. And winning entries may be used in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest for a period of 24 months from the date winners are notified.

Will my photos be returned?

All submissions are to be completed online through the Caribbean Photo Contest website.

When will the winners be announced?

Winners will be contacted during dates specified in the respective contest rules, and the winning entries will be published on the Caribbean Photo Contest website. Please do not call or e-mail us about the status of your entries. See Contest Details and Rules sections under the Contest Info tab on Main Menu.
